What is your style of counseling?  What can I expect in a counseling session?

My counseling style could be described as collaborative, solution-oriented and/or narrative, depending on the desires you have for therapy.  We will explore, collaboratively, many possible solutions that may work for your situation.

Usually, people find their way into therapy because they have a hard time finding solutions to their concerns. They may want someone safe to talk with outside their normal circle of friends/family, or they want someone to talk with who can listen to their struggles.  We will develop a process in which we can explore different angles of a situation, build solutions, or develop awareness of utilizing the problems as a springboard to a richer life path.

What problems/issues do you specialize in?

I see both individuals and couples.  I specialize in working with couples issues such as infidelity, communication breakdowns and broken relationships.  I commonly see individuals for depression, anxiety, anger management, addictions, work-life issues, financial concerns and other issues.

How do you work with couples?

I assist couples in finding a deeper connection. This often involves addressing communication patterns and ways of relating with one another. I do not referee, take sides or try to figure out who is right or wrong in the relationship. The sessions focus on finding ways to navigate distressing situations, enhancing the relationship and developing better ways of being together.

How much counseling experience do you have?

Over 25 years of experience counseling individuals, couples and families. In 2008, we started a private practice and have been in private practice full time since then.

What is your rate and do you accept insurance?

I accept all Medicaid (Turquoise Care) carriers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Turquoise Care
  • Presbyterian Turquoise Care
  • United Healthcare Turquoise Care
  • Molina Turquoise Care

I also accept Self-pay at the rate of $120 per session.

If an EAP program referred you, there is no fee while covered with EAP sessions.
