What is your style of counseling?  What can I expect in a counseling session?

My counseling style could be described as collaborative, solution-oriented, and/or narrative, depending on the desires you have for therapy. We will explore, collaboratively, many possible angles or solutions for your situation.

Usually, people come to therapy because they have a hard time finding their way through difficulties. They may want solutions to an issue or just someone who can listen, confidentially, to their struggles outside of their circle of family or friends. We will develop a process in which we can explore different possibilities, build solutions, or develop awareness while utilizing the problems as a springboard to a richer life path.

What issues do you specialize in?

With couples, I specialize in working with common issues of infidelity, communication breakdowns, and broken relationships. I see individuals with a wide variety of concerns, often involving habit reconstruction, life transitions, work-life balance, bereavement, and those wanting to find their way to a more satisfying life.

How do you work with couples?

I assist couples in finding a deeper connection. This often involves addressing communication patterns and ways of relating with one another. I do not referee, take sides, or try to figure out who is right or wrong in the relationship. The coupled unit is the client, and the sessions focus on finding ways to navigate distressing situations, enhance the relationship, and develop better ways of being together.

How much counseling experience do you have?

Over 25 years ofexperience counseling individuals, couples and families. In 2008, I entered into private practice and have been in private practice full-time since then.

What is your rate, and do you accept insurance?

Self-pay rate is $200 per session.  I accept the following insurances:

  • Presbyterian: Medicaid (Turquoise Care) and commercial plans
  • United Healthcare: Medicaid (Turquoise Care) and commercial plans
  • Molina: Medicaid (Turquoise Care) and Marketplace
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield: Medicaid (Turquoise Care) and most commercial plans (I cannot accept Blue Community HMO, NM Blue Preferred or Blue Advantage HMO)

If an EAP program referred you, there is no fee while covered with EAP sessions.

I look forward to meeting with you.
